AAPL and the AAPL Educational Foundation, Inc. have pledged up to $1.25 million in disaster relief directly to AAPL members affected by natural disasters such as Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The AAPL Board of Directors approved the donation at the September quarterly meeting and plans to contribute $500,000 immediately to the AAPL Educational Foundation disaster relief fund and will match all donations to the fund dollar for dollar up to an additional $500,000. In addition, the AAPL Educational Foundation will also match dollar for dollar all donations received for disaster relief up to $250,000, other than those received from AAPL.

We are proud to have the opportunity for the Educational Foundation to broaden its charitable activities to include disaster relief, starting with AAPL’s donation of $500,000.

100% of donations to the AAPL Educational Foundation will go directly to assist AAPL members with disaster relief. No deductions for administrative or operating fees will be assessed from these donations.

This is a chance for our association to help our members who have suffered devastating losses during these storms and future natural disasters, and I encourage you to consider AAPL’s and the Foundation’s offers to match your donation and further aid fellow members.

Additional information will be provided in the next few weeks about how members may apply for a grant for disaster relief from the Foundation.
