Instructor(s):

Alex Haluszka

Alex Haluszka has been a Hydrogeologist with Matrix's Western Hydrogeology team since 2009. During that time he has worked mostly on water supply projects for unconventional resource projects in Alberta and British Columbia, with a focus on oil sands and hydraulic fracturing. He also has experience in contaminant hydrogeology for conventional upstream oil and gas sites. Prior to working for Matrix, Alex worked as a petroleum exploration geologist while pursuing his B.Sc. degrees in geology at the University of Calgary.

Sarah Singer

Sarah's experience at Matrix has focused around water contamination in upstream oil and gas in Alberta and Northern British Columbia. Over the last five years at Matrix as an environmental consultant, the majority of her work has focused on assessing and recommending remediation strategies for sites impacted by hydrocarbons and produced water. Such work includes the development of conceptual site models, risk assessment, and management. Previously, Sarah has worked on water development projects in Eastern Africa. Her roles varied from program management, technical advisor, to leading workshops on field water quality sampling and testing.
