A Practical Guide to Acquisitions and Divestments - Everything You Need to Know from A to D

Who:

Land negotiators, administrators, analysts, co-ordinators, team leads, supervisors, managers and other oil and gas personnel who work on acquisitions and divestments.

What:

This course will guide you through the entire A&D process life cycle.  This holistic overview starts with a synopsis of evaluations, data room due diligence processes, and drafting purchase and sale agreements, indemnities, warranties, and general conveyances.  The course includes development of land schedules, management of rights of first refusal, specific conveyances and transfers, and closing and post-closing administration.  A comprehensive set of checklists and precedents is included.  

Instructor(s):

Tracey Stock, P.Eng, JD, MBA 

Tracey earned a chemical engineering degree from the University of Toronto and practiced reservoir and petroleum engineering in Alberta for several years before the National Energy Program encouraged him to earn a law degree from the University of Calgary. He was called to the Alberta bar in 1989 and is also a member of the bar in Saskatchewan and Ontario. He’s a professional engineer, landman, arbitrator, mediator, chartered manager, and earned advanced degrees in management, economics, and information technology while continuing to work full-time.

Tracey is a part-time Hearing Commissioner for the Alberta Energy Regulator and adjudicates energy applications and regulatory appeals that can only be reviewed by the Alberta Court of Appeal on questions of law or jurisdiction.
